The following is a campaign extending from the commercial on TV, to promote online safety.
In today's world, it is easy to fake a personality, and connect with others across the world.
The pictures to the left are a snippet to the scenario in the video that happens online a lot today(These are actors from Safe-E).
The first photo shows a girl, Jackie, interested in a famous YouTuber(Kian Lawley), and they start talking. Or so she thinks. What she doesn't know is that the guy she's actually talking to is a different guy named Ilker Erkut. Erkut from Safe-E.
The second photo is of Jackie finding out who she is actually talking to. She's disgusted that it wasn't Kian Lawley, but a random stranger. And the random stranger(Erkut for Safe-E) is holding up the fake profile he's been using.
The significance about this opening campaign is that kids are so focused on trying to be famous. They will even use a famous account to be someone they are not. We are so focused on trying to be online famous, that as technology progresses humans become more social online, and more antisocial in person.
Although a positive of what becoming famous online ties into is social activism. Many famous people online such as Andrea Russett(YouTuber), Tyler Oakley(YouTuber), Logan Paul(Viner), etc., they use their fame to spread the word about modern dilemmas. Some of the problems include social smoking, water shortage in Africa, LGBT rights. Once they're famous, these videos become viral and are able to to reach a broad audience that wouldn't have been able to be reached before.
